Danielle Smith was sworn in as Alberta’s 19th Premier on October 11, 2022. The Premier chairs cabinet and chooses Alberta's cabinet ministers, who are in charge of specific ministries.
Danielle Smith is a proud Albertan. As Leader of the governing United Conservative Party, she was sworn in as the 19th Premier of Alberta on October 11, 2022. She represents the riding of Brooks-Medicine Hat in the Legislative Assembly.
Ms. Smith has had a lifelong interest in Alberta public policy and finding the right balance between free enterprise and individual freedom, and the role of government. She was previously MLA for Highwood and leader of the Official Opposition.
Before re-entering politics, Ms. Smith worked extensively in the media and in business, most recently as President of the Alberta Enterprise Group. Before that she was a radio host with Corus Entertainment for 6 years.
Danielle Smith holds degrees in both Economics and English from the University of Calgary. She is married to David and proud stepmom to his son. They live in High River with their two dogs.
Vivian Krause

Vivian Krause is a researcher and writer based in Vancouver.
Over the past ten years, she has traced the funding of activist groups that campaign against resource-based industries.
Vivian has testified to parliamentary committees of the House of Commons and the Senate and her work has prompted investigations by Elections Canada and the CRA.
Vivian has a Science degree from McGill and a Masters of Science from the University of Montreal. She worked on diabetes with the Algonquin people in Northern Quebec and spent a decade with the United Nations in Guatemala and Indonesia.
Her international experience and expertise in the charitable sector allows her to think outside the barrel to understand the anti-pipeline activism that is paralyzing Alberta and threatening to tear Canada apart.

Andy Brooks is the President of Had To Holdings Ltd, a company that provides interim senior leadership during crises and specializes in strategic development and board governance. With over 25 years of experience, he has held various senior roles and has a education. He is Vice Chair of the Calgary Drug Treatment Court, Director at Bothar Canada, and has served on the board with the Petroleum Services Association of Canada.

Brian Jean was sworn in as the Minister of Energy and Minerals on June 9, 2023. He previously served as the Minister of Jobs, Economy and Northern Development.
Prior to his service as an elected official at the provincial level, Mr. Jean was a Member of Parliament from 2004 to 2014 where he served as the Parliamentary Secretary to 3 different Ministers of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities. He has also previously dedicated 11 years to private legal practice as partner at a large Northern Alberta law firm, primarily as a litigator, and owned several successful small businesses.
Mr. Jean holds a Bachelor of Laws as well as a Bachelor of Science and a Masters in Business Administration.
Brian Jean was first elected as the Member of the Legislative Assembly for Fort McMurray-Conklin May 5, 2015, and as the Member for Fort McMurray-Lac La Biche on March 16, 2022 and was re-elected on May 29, 2023.

He is a Professional Engineer with 45 years of experience in the energy industry. Mr. Selby worked as a petroleum engineer and subsequently practiced law with two major Canadian law firms, specializing in securities, oil and natural gas and international financial transactions. Mr. Selby has over 30 years of experience in strategy and negotiations. As Vice President at Pengrowth Corporation he participated in more than 50 asset and corporate acquisitions and 25 equity and debt financings.
