Jim Kinnear is an entrepreneur with considerable experience in the energy sector. He is currently the Chairman of Caledonian Midstream Corporation, a natural gas producer he started-up in 2017. He is also the founder of other energy businesses including, Kinnear Financial, Pengrowth Management, and Pengrowth Energy Trust.

As President and CEO of Pengrowth Energy Trust, Jim Kinnear provided vision and leadership to one of North America's largest and most successful energy royalty trusts for over 20 years. Formed in 1988 with a Cdn$12.5 million offering, Pengrowth Energy Trust had an enterprise value of approximately $4.3 billion and more than 600 team members when he retired in September 2009. Under his leadership, the Trust provided an average compound rate of return of over 14 percent annually to investors.
